7组竞争者共14人（rén）分别空降（jiàng）到温哥华岛的北部，每组的两个（gè）队员一共（gòng）可以选择10个生（shēng）存装备，并平分装备。每组中需要选择一人降落在营地，另一人则（zé）降落在距离营地16km（1 mi）的地方并需要靠指南针（zhēn）徒步到营地。每个人都可以（yǐ）在（zài）任何时（shí）间退出游戏，同时另一名（míng）组员也会自（zì）动被退出（chū）游戏。如果有（yǒu）组员因为受伤而退出，那么与主动退（tuì）出游戏一样。坚持到最（zuì）后一组的两（liǎng）名成（chéng）员获（huò）得50万美金。
